The common alt.fun / HyperEVM issues and exactly what to do.
“Insufficient funds for gas” / a tx won’t submit
Your wallet is low on HYPE (gas is paid in HYPE, not USDC). Top up without leaving Telegram: /wallet → Swap and convert a few dollars of USDC → HYPE, then retry. A few cents of HYPE covers many trades.
“Slippage” error or the trade reverts on a fast mover
The price moved more than your tolerance between quote and execution. Raise slippage in /settings → Slippage (volatile launches may need 10–20%+). Higher slippage = worse fill but a higher chance the tx lands.
I can buy but the sell reverts / “can’t sell”
This is an alt.fun curve state, not a bot bug: the pair's leveraged-token reserve has been drained close to zero, so sells revert until a buy refills it. Wait for buy volume (or a small buy) to restore the reserve, then sell. It usually clears on its own.
“Couldn’t read that contract” / no card
The token isn't indexed on alt.fun yet (brand-new launch) or the address isn't a valid HyperEVM alt.fun token. Wait a few seconds and resend, or confirm the contract on the alt.fun site.
A token graduated — does trading still work?
Yes. Once a token completes its bonding curve and graduates, altDesk routes buys/sells through HyperSwap automatically. The card still works the same way; pricing just comes from the DEX pool instead of the curve.
My private-key message disappeared
Intended. The bot deletes the message containing your key immediately on receipt so it never sits in your chat history. The key is encrypted at rest — see Security model.
The bot ignores me in the group
By design. Trading and wallet commands only work in a private DM with @altfun_trading_bot. In groups the bot only answers read-only info commands like /token.
